JANUARY, FEBRUARY, MARCH EVENTS

SUNDAY JANUARY 5

Welcome the New Year with some local flights with your friends.  Bring a friend along, introduce them to the Club and take them for a scenic flight over the local area.

Enjoy the usual BYO barbecue at 12:00.

SUNDAY JANUARY 19

There is an open invitation to a fly-in to Dean Johnson’s airstrip at American River in conjunction with the American River Gala Day.  A selection of KI homebuilt aircraft, including Peter Hupfield‘s ¾ scale replica Mustang, will be on display.  Transport will be available for anyone wishing to visit the Gala Day.

For more information phone 8553 1343 or email peter.denholm@bigpond.com.

This is not an official Aldinga Aero Club event but it would be great if we can support other local aviation groups by flying in for the day.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2

Nine holes flying competition – a golf game with a difference for golfers and non-golfers.

Enjoy the usual BYO barbecue at 12:00.

WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 12

Committee meeting.

FRIDAY FEBRUARY 28 – SUNDAY MARCH 2

The Australian Piper Society will be holding a pilot proficiency program at Aldinga and will be using our club facilities for the event.  Aldinga Aero Club members have been invited to join the visitors for a barbecue dinner on Friday evening and a seminar on Avplan electronic flight bags on Saturday.

More details will be provided as we receive information from the Australian Piper Society.

Although the Piper event coincides with our flying competition for non-pilots on Sunday, March 2, there should be minimal interference from the Piper pilot proficiency program as all of their activities for the day will be flying sessions.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2

Flying competition for non-pilots.  John Chambers is organising this competition to introduce people to the pleasures of private aviation and attract new members to the club.  The next issue of Go Round will have more details on this event.

SATURDAY MARCH 8 – SUNDAY MARCH 10

Fly away to Mt. Gambier.  Details will be published on the web site in mid-January.
