Fun Flight 2012

Each year the Aldinga Aero Club participates in Fun Flight. Children with various illnesses come along and are taken for Joy Flights by the Aero Club’s pilots and other volunteering pilots from the community. This year 15 pilots flew 57 sorties with over 100 passengers at the Goolwa Aerodrome in South Australia.

Fun Flight

The annual Fun Flight event takes place today at Goolwa. Fun Flight is a charity event where children with health problems are taken on joy flights over the Goolwa area. Family members also get to be part of this event which is a time of fun and enjoyment for those less fortunate than ourselves.

After the event, we will upload some photos of the day.

Battle of Britain 2012

Each year the Aldinga Aero Club pilots re-enact the Battle of Britain by flying a sortie to given locations around the state and returning to Aldinga. Club Captain, Owen Crees provided a mission briefing at 0600 for the 6 crews taking part this year. The route included a leg to Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend and back to YADG.

Sean Leyden presented a short prayer and information about the event back in the 40s.

Here is a short video from dawn until the squadron returned.
